Canadaigua Fire Department Staffing Levels
|
While standard goals and objectives may be common among all fire departments, types of
hazards encountered, frequency of those encounters, appropriate equipment, staffing,
training and planning are specific to our city and fire district. This starts with the risk
assessment and pre-emergency planning process. Matrix Group took a "regional" look at
the fire departments in our area. However, the hazards common to a small city with a
heavy industrial and seasonal tourist component are vastly different than most of the very
rural departments that surround us. We think it would be more beneficial to compare our
department to those departments in cities of similar size, with similar risks thourghout the
the New York State region. The significance here is matching the proper resources to the
hazards specific to our fire district. To that end we have compiled this data for you.
